Evening all,
there is a CASA safety night coming up shortly, organised by the Illawarra Flyers,
that members might be interested in.
Details are:

CASA SAFETY NIGHT (including free evening meal sponsored by CASA)
how often do you get something free from a bureaucracy?

Thursday 17th July, 6.00 pm at the Aviator Lounge at Wollongong Airport

Subjects being covered:-

• Bureau of Meterology representative speaking on meteorological conditions,
• CASA speaking on pilot decision making,
• CASA relating a story about a local pilot who flew into cloud and was thrown about uncontrollably for several minutes and lived to tell the story.

After a break, the BOM representative will speak about the new weather reporting system
being introduced in NOV08. All SAAA Chapter 4 members are encouraged to attend.
You never know, you might learn something that could save your life one day.

This is a reminder about the Wings Over Illawarra event coming up shortly
on Saturday 08MAR08 at Illawarra Regional Airport (YWOL)
This event is an Historical Aircraft Restoration Society Open Day
and SAAA Chapter 4 Fly-in

I believe that a few of the Chapter 4 members may be flying
down to Temora to see the first flying for the year 9th-10th Feb
@ the Temora Aviation Museum

SAAA Chapter 4, in the Wollongong area has taken up the challenge of running another RV breakfast fly-in. We are proposing Sunday 01JUN08 from 9.00 - 12.00 at the Aviator's Lounge at Wollongong airport. They have an outdoor viewing area with comfortable seats, tables and umbrellas etc and you can get tea or proper coffee and order whatever you like for breakfast. It also has a speaker tuned to the CTAF frequency so you can hear what's going on in the air. We have 6 flying rv's locally to get started with and hopefully more will come. I have it listed on the aeroclub.com.au website and have mentioned it on the RV's-in-aus list site. More when it gets a bit closer. Hope you can come.
