Wow this has had a major job, the longerons where changed over to
Inch by Inch
why we wont go there but they have been , wings ahve also been
fitting to
the fuse all angles have been done, Now the hanger is 95% finished
i have
great work shop and getting it done
Next job is the tilt canopy, this gets welded up in the next week
or two
and the plexi can be cut down and fitted
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
The only welding in the F1 is the cross over bar, For this I
employed an
Air Craft welder for the job. The Chicken was available for the day
and as she is
certified for this type of work , It only took her a half an hour
to cutand weld the
bar & and after I had nearly completed the baggage compartment
,
The Chicken came back the next day for a thumbs up inspection

Major update Sep 2003
Now no longer need it,
As im doing a tilt canopy and a different roll over bar is
needed

Tilt
Canopy
Why a Tilt ? Why Not he said !
At this stage I have found this the hardest job that I have had to
do. With some good help
from Tom Martin it has been a lot easier , Also you would of
noticed I have made
this out of chrome moly (main frame). It is a dame lot cheaper that
6061 angle here
down under ,But I would do it again as now I have had some practise
it is worth it .
The hoop has to be done out of aluminium tube as it is easier to
get the correct bow at
the front for the canopy. More info as it is near compleation
update dec 30 2003
It is ready for the welding as i cant weld the alloy
(dont have the right mig) I have even had the buble on and
starting
to get it to fit. So far happy ! . Wife not to happy as she had to
help
I got a good fit with the front skin .
Now after the welding has been done it will be left till i get into
the hanger
to be finished , Not enough room in the garden shed
Time to complete the fuse fitout

Engine Mount
With not to much work , I got to fit this baby
this would have to be one of the easy jobs to do.
Not to much can go wrong

The
Flooring
There is a fair bit of work to do here , As you can see The Chicken
is hard
at work doing this back braking job . You defenetly need Bill
Tew's
majic invention The fuse rotator to make the job a lot
easier.
Bill also is an F1 builder (Kit 81)
Back to the chicken !
After a big days work The Chicken nearly got all the work finished
onthe floor .
She has a few nut plates to go but should get this done next sesion
or even the one after

Also the baggage compartment had got some progress.
And just about done
March. 28 2003
Please note Kaos made the flooring ( IT IS NOT F1 Original ) as I
could not
wait for the container and wanted to get some progressin
place
The 2 rear out side floor panels only have to be pop rivited
down(no need to get under for inspection later )
& be aware if you areinstalling the MK2 flap bar that it goes
at the rear of
these andthat the fixings for this dont conflich with the floor
panel pop rivits
